Dozens of business and non-profit organizations shared their products and services with baby boomers and seniors at the Hudson Boomers and Seniors Expo on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 at the YMCA – Camp St. Croix RCU Discovery Center.
Did you know that the 65+ population is expected to nearly double in both St. Croix and Pierce Counties by 2030? As the baby boomers generation approach and enter retirement, they are looking for ways to stay active and healthy. Local and national companies and non-profits are eager to capture this vital market demographic. Hudson Boomers and Seniors Expo brought them all together in one place to learn all about products and services available in the western Wisconsin area.
Becky Durham, event organizer and Seniors Real Estate Specialist with RE/MAX Results, gave a presentation about seniors housing transitions.
“It can be scary for the 55+ population to consider selling a treasured family home. Boomers and Seniors Expo is a great place to show Seniors in Hudson and River Falls that they have a lot of options.”
Several exhibitors offered housing options, from independent living to assisted living to memory care, as well as in-home care that allows seniors to age in place.
But there’s more to Boomers and Seniors Expo than just housing, of course! Financial and estate planning, volunteer opportunities, and a variety of health and wellness vendors presented attendees with opportunities to live vibrantly in retirement. Many visitors played exhibitor BINGO for a chance to win beautiful fused glass art made by Boomers and Seniors Expo founder John Durham! Stay tuned next week for a blog post announcement of the winners.
